My Story
Meet Floki!
When his owner went to prison, Floki was taken to Chesterfield Square Shelter – South LA and got a jail sentence of his own. He spent 488 days in the shelter without being adopted! His future is looking much brighter after becoming a Frosted Face on May 28th. Floki is 11 years old and weighs 112 lbs. He is a majestic hunk of love!
Floki does well in a play group with other dogs, likes to hop in the wading pool to cool off, and enjoys going on our weekly FFF hikes.
Floki is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn what he is like in a home. His Fling Mom shares:
“Floki just loves his couch and will wait patiently for you to join him. He caught on to our routine quickly and settled in nicely. He thinks chew bones are great and so are ice cubes!
Floki knows the commands “go lay down” and “stay.” He sleeps through the night with no problems. He is a good eater and doesn’t show any food aggression. He also doesn’t bother my other dog when he’s eating.
Floki is not a swimmer but will stay in the shallow end of our pool.
Floki likes to follow his person everywhere they go, but somehow never gets under your feet.
We went to the dog park this morning and he did fine with little dogs and big dogs. He doesn’t play, preferring to just trot around the play area. He goes for about a mile walk in the morning and likes to smell about the first 20 minutes of the walk. Then, you can walk a little faster after that!
I’ve left him alone in the house with no problems. You can also leave him in the crate with no problems.”
