My Story
Arf! Arf, everyone! I’m Enzo, as in Lorenzo, and I’m a sweet, eager-to-please, trusting, resilient 47-pound red brindle Australian Cattle Dog/ Plott Hound mix fella with a white bib who was born about October 2020. I’ve got the build and head/ ears of an ACD but the red brindle coat of a Plott Hound.
I say that I’m resilient because I just love my new hoomans, adults and kids alike, despite the fact that I had a rough start in my short life. When my rescuer found me as a sad and forlorn street stray, I was in a very disturbing condition — I had a wire embedded so tightly and deeply around my neck that it almost cut off my jugular. Fortunately my rescuer was truly like the Biblical Good Samaritan because she immediately took me to a vet who could treat and stitch up the raw wound around my neck. And thus began my new life and rehabilitation, for which I am very, very grateful.
My rescuer could see my potential if I could get cleaned up and healed, so she paid a lot of money out-of-pocket for the fast-kill heartworm injection and professional obedience training to ensure that there were no roadblocks to someone’s being interested in adopting me. It wasn’t long before the Red Heeler (ACD) in me started blossoming and my true, sweet personality started showing through. Now I love to cuddle and spend time with my hoomans as well as run and chase after every squirrel in sight. My perky, upbeat countenance has replaced my formerly disconsolate expression. I never knew life could be so good.
That said, I must admit that I’d probably be best as an only dog. I’ve been through so much that I need no canine competition for my hoomans’ attention that I deserve so much. Arrange to meet me today! I promise that I’ll leave my pawprints all over your heart.
Enzo is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. He tested heartworm positive and has already completed his treatment. His adoption fee is $250 for dogs older than 9 months. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
