Type of a scam Tech Support

Tried to get my Echo Dot working and a popup on my screen said they were from Amazon and would help me get my Echo Dot working correctly. They asked for my phone number and said someone would call me with support. When the person called, he asked for control of my computer. I asked him which company he was from and he replied Amazon. As soon as he took control and went through my files, he told me my computer was infected. I immediately logged off of my computer and the phone hung up. I changed my password and tried to uninstall and delete all of the items of that day, which was yesterday, January 7, 2018. I still see in my program files their app which is GoToAssist Remote Support, and I cannot delete it or uninstall it.
