My Story
Arf! Arf, everyone! I’m Tug, a sweet, happy, gentle, fun-loving 65-pound yellow lab mix fella who was born about September 2022. Although I’m a teenager who will eventually mellow with age, I’m still brimming with puppy-like playful energy. Miss Donna describes me as “young and super-smart, super-active, and super-hyper,” so I need to be placed with someone who shares my kind of energy.
Miss Donna is training me to obey, but until I’m cured of rambunctiously bouncing all over the place, I best not be around small children lest I literally knock them over with my cheerful exuberance. Also, true confessions — when I play with my toys, I don’t like to share them with other dogs, so I best be an “only-dog” child.
Remember that the sweet-faced, lovable Labrador Retriever is America’s most popular dog breed. We’re friendly, outgoing, and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for a family looking for a medium-to-large dog. Like most lab mixes, expect me to be a very loving, companionable housemate who bonds with the whole family as well as who socializes well with your neighbors.
I don’t think you’d ever mistake my easygoing personality for low energy, but did you know that it’s not unusual for even adult yellow labs to be enthusiastic athletes who require regular exercise to keep us physically and mentally fit? I’ll need an active family who will take me on daily walks or engage me with tennis balls, tug-ropes, or Frisbees.
I was bought by someone but then discarded like trash out in the woods. Fortunately a Good Samaritan found out about my plight, rescued me, and then turned to Miss Donna to find me a wonderful forever home. Arrange to meet me today so I can cover your face with mushy puppy kisses and leave big paw prints all over your heart.
Tug is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $250 for dogs older than 9 months. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
