Type of a scam Government Grant

A couple of months ago, I got something for a free government grant, I filled out the application. Today I got a call from a man with US Government Free Grant for $9000.. He said I’d been selected and approved of a free $9000 grant. We talked a good while. He said do you have some kind of card that you could direct deposit the money on. I said yeah. I said a prepaid Mastercard, he said he can get that set up for a grant to be deposited on it. He said the grant is sponsored by Amazon. He said the only thing they want is for me to go to Walmart, buy 2 $100 Amazon cards. Go to register, pay for the cards and keep the receipt numbers. Then call him, give him the numbers. He said he’ll put the numbers in that I purchased the cards. Then once I put the numbers in, he will put $9000 direct deposited onto the cards. Then he’ll have me call the card and make sure there is $9000 then I’ll tell him "yes there is $9000 on it". All he wants is the 2 card numbers. Right now I’m struggling for gas money. So I would have to go to somebody and sell my soul to borrow the money for the cards and the gas to go to Walmart. If I borrow the money, I will have to go on the run. I don’t know if I should do it. I called BBB, they said it’s a scam. Seems like I should get something for reporting it.
