Type of a scam Tech Support

I received a call telling me the company that I purchased by computer’s virus protection was out of business. The caller then stated I was entitled to a refund since I had paid for 3 years of service.

I was unable to proceed with the call, due to being at work and the call was made to my cell phone.

I own my own business, and all my computers have security thru my IT provider, and they are still in business.

I assume the next step with this call would have been either a request for my banking information or credit card to refund the money.
