My Story
About Syrup:
They started calling me Syrup when I first came into the shelter because they say I smelled sweet like syrup. Isn’t that cute? I’d like to think so. I’m a pretty easy going guy, I haven’t been at the shelter very long but I haven’t given anyone any trouble since I’ve been here. I’m athletic and would love to accompany you on your adventures then maybe mellow out at the house afterward on a cozy bed. I can maybe be a little vocal at first if I don’t know you but I let that go easily with a little attention and maybe a treat. I’ve also been told I’m really handsome but that’s just the rumor. I’m not one to brag – I’m a humble fella.
*Syrup’s last vet appointment revealed that he has a heart murmur which is a grade two out of six. This is not considered significant, and shouldn’t affect his overall health, but something that should be monitored as he gets older to ensure that the condition has not worsened.
Health & Grooming:
Sammie’s staff think Syrup is about 1 ½ to 2 years old. He is not yet neutered but his appointment is on June 11, until then he is available for foster to adopt.

Staff at Sammie’s can’t get over how striking Syrup’s markings are, with smoky eyes and a striking color pattern. He’s been a mild mannered resident during his time at the shelter, but hasn’t had the opportunity to make any new friends as he hasn’t yet been assessed with new dogs. He seems to get along with all humans.
