My Story
Say CHEEEZE!!…….. Or better yet say “Cheddar”!
Cheddar is 6-month-old rescue puppy who is ready for your next adventure. Wanna hike?…..she’s ready for the trail. Training for your next race?…..she would love to be your training partner. Looking for a road trip buddy?…..cheddar is the perfect travel size. Need a family dog?….Cheddar would love to be your family buddy. Cheddar is quick to bond once introductions are over. She wants to be in whatever room yoiu are.
Cheddar has been in a foster home with 3 other dogs. Cheddar plays happily with the two younger dogs. With the grumpy 12-year-old foster sibling, Cheddar has taken this dog’s social cues, and responds by contently laying next to her and keep her company rather than bother her with the “youngins” play stuff.
Cheddar is potty training and used a dog door independently in the foster home. She is kennel trained and still sleeps in a kennel at night and frequently “puts herself to bed” in the crate when she’s tired. Cheddar travels in a crate for car rides, although she will happily be ready to travel “free about the cabin” once allowed. Cheddar has spent both time in the crate and unsupervised time without issues when the family is getting errands done.
Cheddar can be initially cautious occasionally with new dogs or people but has learned and taken the clues from her fosters siblings that new greetings don’t need to be scary and joins the group very quickly.
Cheddar is comfortable around young kids and is currently in a busy foster home with teenagers and all the activities-comings/goings that are part of a busy teenage home. She loves to be part of the semi-chaos and business.
What mix is Cheddar you ask? We aren’t exactly sure of her mighty mix, but she has the agility of a cattle dog or terrier, the loyalty and ears of a Shepard, the quickness to loyal forever friend of a pointer and the 100% ready to belong and bond with a home and human(s) she can call “mine”.
If you think Cheddar may be the one for you, please go to our website at www.wagstorichesanimalrescue.org and fill out an application to adopt. Please be sure to include a vet reference as regular vet care is important to us for the health of all our adopted dogs. With approval and a $295 adoption donation, she will be ready to accompany you on all of life’s many adventures! Cheddar is spayed, microchipped, fecal tested clean of internal parasites and up to date on all her vaccinations, including rabies.
