My Story

DRAKE
Los Angeles, CA
Age: 2
*** No Children under the age of twelve ***
*** Good with other confident Bengals ***
*** We don’t know if he would get along with a dog ***
Drake is a gorgeous and affectionate brown-rosetted Bengal who is 2 years old and weighs eleven pounds. He was found, unaltered, wandering the streets with no microchip.
We called the local shelter, and they told us that they were completely full / closed to intakes at that time. They asked us to try to find his family and keep him safe (we provided photos to them in case the owners came looking for him). After many months of trying to locate his owners, we were unsuccessful. No one responded to the flyers and posts. So now Drake is ready for a loving home who will never let him go.
We brought Drake to a wonderful foster who reports to us that Drake is the biggest love bug!! She desperately hoped he would be able to join the “clowder,” however her resident female DSH cat has other ideas.
Here is what she wants people to know about Drake.
Drake adores feather wand toys and eating Churu treats. He is relentlessly friendly, and persistently attempts to play with the foster’s three kitties despite their occasional aggression towards him. Drake has become cuddly, always on his own terms of course(in the timing of his preference). When he’s ready for love – he really enjoys scratches on his head and neck.
Drake is a tree-dweller, meaning he loves to be up high. He is often at the top of a ceiling-high cat tree or jumps to the top of a very tall closet. Drake is high-energy, as to be expected with a two-year-old Bengal. He requires a lot of activity and stimulation, or he will continually pace and yowl. He absolutely loves chasing and jumping with his feather wand toy.
Drake has excellent litter box habits. He is presently eating Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials dry food, bottled water, and chicken Churu treats. He loves the water fountain (most Bengals love moving water). He would truly thrive on a raw-food diet, or a high quality canned diet.
Drake adores the three kitties at the foster’s home. He constantly attempts to befriend, engage, and play with them. He lives with an older Bengal cat (14) and a young Bengal cat (4) and a DSH (6). He and the other Bengals have become like the three amigos, leaving the DSH out of the loop. Unfortunately, she has become quite terrified of the whole group, as a whole. That said, we do believe that Drake can live with other friendly cats if there are slow introductions. He has never growled, hissed, swatted, or shown an ounce of aggression towards the others. We do believe that Drake would do very well with friendly playmates.
Drake is shy around people, at first. Like most Bengals, he is not fond of being picked up or held against his wishes. Drake will definitely rub up against you when he is ready for some petting. Our foster says that Drake is the most conversational Bengal that she has ever encountered. He loves to chat and especially loves it when the foster engages with him.
Otherwise, Drake is a healthy cat who just wants to be around his humans. Drake is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his vaccinations.
