My Story
This sweet 11-year-old senior ended up in a Texas shelter, hoping to find someone to spend her golden days with! NorthStar stepped in and pulled her to safety and she is now in a wonderful foster home.
Sake moves pretty well but definitely has difficulty moving her back legs, possibly due to arthritis. She also has no teeth although that hasn’t interfered with her eating wet food! She has chronic dry eye and pigment that comes with that that covers most of her cornea. She will be on an ointment the rest of her life to control the symptoms of discharge and further pigment from developing.
Personality wise Sake is just like having a little doll. Inside she lays in bed or wherever you put her and sleeps a lot. Outside she likes to walk around and roll in the grass. She eats and drinks well and sleeps most of the day but will get up when she’s ready to go out. We carry her outside and she immediately does her business.
As you can see in her photos, Sake is very underweight, practically skeletal, but she is slowly gaining weight in foster as she eats 3 healthy meals a day. NorthStar will be making sure Sake gets the medical attention she needs in order to bring her back to a better state of health. She will then be making her way to NJ to find a wonderful retirement home.
