Type of a scam Counterfeit Product

I ordered from a website and when I didn’t get tracking information contacted the company I thought I had ordered from. Here is the response:

I have some bad news for you. It appears that you have purchased from a scam, counterfeit site. I would advise you to work through the site or through paypal to get a refund.

In fact, it has come to our attention that numerous websites have popped up purporting to sell Zip Top containers, sometimes at a significant discount. Sadly, we’ve learned from other creators that this is common following successful Kickstarter campaign. Many of these sites only exist to steal credit card information. Others are selling cheap and unsafe knock-offs of our product.

These counterfeit sites and products are particularly deceptive because they have stolen our copyrighted videos, images, and content as well as are claiming to make and sell our patent-pending product designs. Our attorneys are vigorously pursuing each violation of our intellectual property, but since it is relatively easy to spin up a new website, it is likely that new ones will continue to appear.

Rest assured that the only ways to purchase authentic Zip Top containers are either from our recently ended Kickstarter campaign or currently on our official company website, https://ziptop.co. Our Kickstarter backers will be the first customers to receive any Zip Top containers (estimated to be in March 2019) with website orders shipping soon after that. Any site (including items on Amazon) claiming shipment before then are, without a doubt, selling counterfeit knockoffs.
