Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
A man I do not know sent me a link to apply to be a secret shopper. John A. Napolitano is his name. He sent me this note via LinkedIn along with a link to a company where I entered my contact information, to be considered for a "position" with this company:
Hello (my first name), I endorsed you for this position/project. It is part-time and can be done from your home location at your convenience. I earn an extra income doing it. Just about one hour or less is required in a week. Read the details and apply now if interested. Thank you, John
Then I received an envelope from someone named Kim Elliott, which I’ve not yet opened. Based on her emails it contains a check that I am to deposit, and then I am supposed to use cash to buy GIFT CARDS then photograph them and send them to her. This seems like a scam.
So far I have received 3 emails from someone named Kim Elliott who never replies when I ask for more info:

Open the pack, remove the label in front of the cards and capture clear image of front and back of each card and email to us along with Page 3 of this document. (Phone camera accepted).
