Type of a scam Online Purchase

Saw an item being sold at a discount on Facebook that caught my eye. Tried treating myself to a birthday present. Clicked the link, made the purchase, received an email with confirmation and an order number that said I would be contacted when it shipped. A week later, I replied to gmail given asking when the item would ship – no reply. (At this time, their website was working and they were still selling the same item plus others.) Sent another email a month later & still no reply. Then, I checked the website and it was (and still is) "currently unavailable."
