Type of a scam Employment

I received an email from [email protected] on Sept 29 about a work from home position as a package handler. She sent me the basic duties and I told her I was interested. I received an email from Paul Wilson, the “HR Manager” on Oct 2 telling me more about the job. He went on to send me an application, since they found my resume on Career Builder. I filled out the application and promptly sent it back to him. A few hours later, he sent me another email saying that had chosen me for the position and an employment agreement to sign and send back to him. I still wasn’t aware it was a scam at the time. Told me I would be paid $2,400 a month plus bonuses after I had sent my first 2 packages. He emailed me Oct 9 and said he had forwarded my information to my “supervisor” Rachel Foster and she would call me later that day or the next day. A day passed and I hadn’t heard from her so I sent him an email telling him that I hadn’t heard from Rachel. Maybe an hour later, she called me (how ironic). She had a really thick accent that didn’t sound like a “Rachel Foster”. She emailed me my login information to access the portal to keep up with sent and received packages. I accessed the portal, and it was so empty and that’s when I really started thinking this may be a scam. So I went onto their actual website, same thing. I reversed Google Imaged the pictures on the website and they were all fake. I stumbled across a blog about a woman who had been scammed the same way and she posted a picture of the SAME EXACT EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT I had signed. She went on to say they take stolen credit cards and send them to the people they’re scamming addresses, so we can send them to other people! I told them both that I knew this was a scam, was going to report them to the proper authorities, and NOT to send me ANY packages….Rachel emailed back saying it wasn’t a scam but I didn’t believe her…then emailed again saying she was going on an urgent business trip from Oct 13-20 (how convenient). Paul has not responded, but I received a package today! I am going to take it to the post office and report the scam to them as well. As well as the police.
