Type of a scam Online Purchase
My father found this web site in which they sell power equipment. We were both looking to purchase new lawn mowers and they had some really great deals.
I tried to purchase two mowers on 9/9/18, online, and got a message that my bank "would not honor" the purchase and to contact my bank or try another credit card. I tried the purchase twice, then once more on 9/10 after having contacted my bank. They had no record of the purchase even trying to be processed, BUT did show a purchase having tried to have been made from a men’s & women’s clothing store in China for over $200 (more than the cost of what I tried to purchase). They attempted twice, which leads me to believe this power equipment store is a front to steal identities.
I tried contacting this company twice via their "contact us" link, which brought me to an email request. I have not yet received any response, and now don’t expect to. They don’t provide a customer service phone number or physical location which I only realized after having had my identity stolen. Luckily my bank didn’t allow those purchases to go through.
I try to research companies prior to entering any personal information, but can never seem to find any good resources for online merchants. Lesson learned, if the deal is too good to be true, then it probably is.
