Type of a scam Phishing

I received a collect phone call from my son, I had to agree to pay the bill before they would connect us, I would also be able to text him for 30 minutes after the phone call started. I agreed and when the call was connected, I could only hear every second or third word he was saying. I just kept repeating his name over and over trying to clear the connection. We didnt get to have a conversation at all. I tried to text him and it sounded like a fax going through. Now they are trying to charge me $27.70 for the call. and they send me text and call me every day. I have tried to call them 3 times. One time I did speak to someone, they asked me for my phone number and they would check into it. They never called me back, that was 4 or 5 days ago. I have received probably 20 phone calls and texts from them, all from different phone numbers, I think this is a scam. I saw other people were posting about this company "3G" and complaining they couldnt hear who was calling them either.
