Type of a scam Debt Collections

A man that claimed to by Ty Griffin contacted me by phone and told me that he was collecting a debt from Check N Go. He stated that because this debt was about to reach the statute of limitations, he was aggressive about collecting the funds and if I did not comply by 6 pm that day (I was speaking to him at approximately 3pm), a capius for my arrest would be issued. He stated that they had already spoken with the local Sheriff’s Office and I would be picked up the next morning. I desperately wanted to comply because I am trying to be qualified to buy a home. Luckily, I contacted my local sheriff’s office and the officer told me it was a scam. The officer said if police officers warned people about warrants, they would never arrest anyone.
