I received a call from someone claiming I am being sued for credit card debt. However, I never owned the credit card he was talking about: and Imagine Mastercard. He claimed my sister had opened the account under my name in 2008. He offered to settle the debt for $500, and he said he’d keep it off my credit report. I knew it was a scam because I have never received any legal documents stating I am being sued.
