I hired this contractor (Jed Smith) to do a wood floor restoration job at a residential property. He and I both signed the contract, which stated $200 deposit to be paid up front, and the remaining $200 to be paid when the job is completed. The contractor did not show on the day he was supposed to per the contract. After reaching him on the phone he said he would start the following day. Again he did not show up for the job. The next day after that he committed to returning the deposit money, which he did not do. All attempts to reach him by phone have been unsuccessful since then. I still have not received my refunded deposit, nor has any work been done by the contractor.
