On 7/22/2020, I tried to activate my new Roku account and it’s free Roku service via the internet. I clicked on the wrong link for Roku and was directed to call Winsoc Tech INC to activate the free service. I did. They proceeded to tell me that they were Roku support and starting in 2020 there is a one time lifetime fee to set up your Roku account in the amount of $229.99 . They convinced me to pay $229.99 via credit card for lifetime membership for my Roku account. The visa transaction was approved on their . I was told that I had 15 days to cancel and get a full refund, I was very suspicious and did some research and found that it is free to set up Roku. I called the two numbers that were given to me immediately and neither of the numbers are working (888)854-1693 ext 117, Rachel Smith. Also I read same complaints here and realize now that it is fraud. I want a full refund.

Purchased a Roku device early Dec.

Set up would not complete and was given a code and telephone number to call.

Spoke with a person named Gary who said he would finish the setup.

Was told Roku now charged a fee for the process plus warranty on the device for 5 years in case of damage.

Balked at the story but then let him charge my credit card for $109.68.

Found out today that this was a scam!!

Now trying to see if I can get my money back.

We purchased a ROKU Tv and on October 7th were setting the tv up. A message popped up on the screen and said we do not have an account call 8888541693. They told us they set up our ROKU account and that we had the option to purchase a subscription for $69.99 for 5 years or $89.99 for lifetime to watch any channels we want. When I saw my credit card bill was $97.98 I called ROKU and they told me they do not bill for any support or subscriptions. They said it was likely a scam and they try to warn their customers. I have called the company that sold me this plan and they have no paperwork or contract or any information for what I purchased. I have disputed this with my credit card company.
