Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
Mother received a call telling her she had won a prize. She didn’t understand and told them they had to talk to her daughter(me). They gave her this number to have me call them. I called, gentleman identified himself as the Winners International Sweepstakes. I identified myself as my Mom. He stated I had won $2.5 million and a new Mercedes car. I had to go to local Walmart or CVS and purchase s $500.00 One Vanilla gift card to cover the cost of a Stamp that would be places on the check that proved to the bank that the check for 2.5 million check was valid. I know this is a scam and have no intentions of buying the gift card. My concern is the possibility that someone may show up at my elderly parents home claiming to have their prizes. Who knows what could happen? I am going to call my parents and warn them not to answer the door to anyone today. I am also
Going to also call back that company and tell them I could not get the gift card because I did have enough money. The phone number is legit and someone named David answers the calls. Please send an info you can provide to protect my parents?? Thank you for your help and I look forward to hearing from you very soon??
