Keep getting calls from windows tech department who stated they owed me a refund for services that i purchased. Needless to say, 1000.00 out of checking account and a PayPal account setup in my name with charges. Had to setup new checking acct twice and still getting phone calls from them. Do not do business with james williams and supposedly windows tech dept.

told me my windows computer had to be up dated they told me that it was going to cost me 200.00 I ended giving them 1,600.00 then they wanted 300.00 more and when I refused they crashed my computer

calling me to say that I have something wrong with my computer. I don’t have a computer. They will not tell me how much it will cost. I know they are not a legitimate company.

Consumer reported that a man called requesting that she grant him access to her Windows computer so that he could give her a sum of money that she won.  The consumer told the man that she did not feel comfortable receiving money through her computer and asked if he could send a check instead.  Once the consumer asked the man for a check, the man became very hostile and insisted that the consumer grant him access to her computer.  The consumer then ended the call.  The caller ID read "Windows Tech Department" with the telephone number 239-300-6978.

I too received multiple calls from an obviously foreign accented person giving an Americanized name calling from Windows tech support in Miami Florida. They tell me, practically ordering me to go to my computer to begin a series of codes to correct my computer’s impending crash from hackers. They tell you to do it quickly so you don’t have time to think about it in the panic that your computer could be crashing any minute. However, I asked to talk to a supervisor (also foreign) and scammed them back. Tell them your spouse or yourself is a state police officer and that your computer and phone records are being monitored and recorded and they will hang up immediately. So far they have not called me back.
