I was playing on my laptop and a message came onto the screen freezing all functions saying that my computer has been compromised and i should call the number on the screen. I did so and someone of not very good english answered , explained the problem and he started telling me to do certain key functions, which i did but when it got to the screen where you should put in your personal information, i new at that point he was trying to access my laptop remotely ,at that point he could get any information he wanted so i just hung up. I get phone calls all the time saying they are with windows support and tell me i have a problem with my computer,i know that it is a scam but on the laptop it looked very

official.I was not even aware that this was going on with the computer message and that they could freeze your computer up.

I clicked a link posted on a relatives page on Facebook to watch a dancing dog video. Instantlly a window popped up and said verbal warning that to stop now and call 888-558-2615 before I have irreparable damage. I tried to close the page and it would not close. I tried to restart my computer but the message kept running and I could not close. When I called this number they told me they were Windows Support and asked me to sign into a link to give them access to my computer. When I asked them why I would give them access to my computer the "India" sounding person said because I called them…that they didn’t call me. I asked them where they were located. He said California. I told him I didn’t feel safe giving a stranger access to my computer. He said if I didn’t let him sign on then I would have to pay them $199.00 because I was hacked. He said "you have been hacked" He then started asking questions to someone in the background in a foreign language. He asked me again for payment so I hung up. I closed out my computer and reopened. The warning was gone. I ran my McAffe viruse scan and it showed protected.
