Type of a scam Online Purchase

On May 14th my 15 year old grandson searched Google for puppies and found willyhuskypuppies.com when he made first contact. He enquired about purchasing a puppy and was contacted via email by “Rico Family Pets” at [email protected] It stated that for $550USD for Re homing fees & Home Delivery he could have a puppy of his choice. Several emails were exchanged where he eventually gave them his address and phone number and was informed that their credit card payment gateway was down and he would have to use a money gram wire transfer service. They also started texting one another at (302) 212-0416. Not knowing any better he did the transfer of $550 on May 16th.

The next morning, May 17th, he then received an email from “Oceana Delivery” at [email protected] telling him that he had to Money Gram $1200 for insurance, that would be refunded upon delivery of the puppy, before the dog can board the plane. Unfortunately, this was the point when my help was enlisted. When we questioned “Rico Family Pets” regarding the hidden charge they abruptly stated that we had to pay or the dog would not be delivered and that the $550 was not refundable.

They have not returned any communication since.
