Type of a scam Online Purchase

I responded to a Craigslist add for a bobcat for sale. When Kristine responded to my request for information she claimed the equipment belonged to her husband who was recently deceased and she could not keep it. She further stated she was moving with her daughter to start a new life. She assured me that in order to provide protection to both parties she advised we use an escrow company that would hold the money wired and would only release if I was satisfied with the purchase. She claimed to have the machine with a West Fargo Shippers and they would be in charge of the whole transaction and shipment. I realized I had been scammed right after I wired the money when I received additional Craigslist responses from other people claiming the same sad story and needing to sale their late husbands’ equipment. I contacted my bank early the next morning but there was nothing they said they could do. They attempted to try to retrieve the money but they said they were unable to. I just wish I had added the word scam to my google search of the name West Fargo Shippers so I could of seen the BBB page sooner about these escrow scams. I feel so disappointed in just handing my hard earned money to thieves and I wish the whole public becomes aware of these scams and that Craigslist does something about it.
