Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

An old friend, reached out to me on Linked In and said she was on the Board of a company that employed Mysery Shoppers. I would get $300 plus gas money for 2 store visits. I sent an email with my contact info and got a check, for $2945. Instructions said to go to 2 stores and buy 8-$100 Amazon Gift Cards and 5 -I_Tunes cards..so spend $1300, and do it twice. And $300 for me, as promised and $45 for gas. They asked I pay in cash. So I was to cash the check, buy the cards, take a picture of the cards, receipt and CODES on cards . ( So check would bounce and I would be out $2945 and when they got codes, they could use on line and spend the $2945.)
