I was contacted via email about a Mystery shopping opportunity in my area. I was curious about the opportunity and decided to play along. On July 10th I received instructions that there was a location in my area that was having issues with Ebay gift cards being compromised. Details of the assignment are attached. I went to my bank to see if the check was legitimate and Wells Fargo determined the check in the amount of $2350.00 was a fraud. The branch manager kept the original packaging and the check. I tried to report this to the local police department. I was told that since my PII was not compromised they could not assist me. I am sending this information in the hope that others being scammed are aware of the email and company that sent me instructions.
