caller identified themselves as grandchild in emergency situation and needed money to resolve the issue.

alleged vehicle accident involving grandchild and rental vehicle leased by foreign family that returned to Ecuador after accident occurred. caller sounded similar to grandchild’s voice but claimed allergies were impeding ability to be understood clearly. called identified as grandchild offered me to speak to an attorney in effort to resolve the issue. when I ask the caller, identified as grandchild, to tell me where he was, he never answered which led to suspiciousness.

second caller identified himself as Walter Smith, attorney at law, that hurriedly explained conditions my grandson was experiencing and requested immediate assistance. I told him I would have to consult with my spouse and he left a number (778.982.1281) for me to return a call after we discussed the situation.

we never returned the call. I called my grandson and learned he was at home and had not been involved in an accident.
