Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

i received an email a couple of days before Christmas, saying i was chosen to be a secret shopper and i was to purchase gift cards from walmart after i deposited the check into my account that was for $2420.00. I was to use $2000 and keep $420.

i went ahead, excitedly depositing it and ready to complete my task.

I was told that the check would have a hold for 7 days, which i was like, okay fine…

then a day later, my whole account has been restricted! No money coming in or out. Holidays are ruined.

Lesson Learned, now i have to wait for my bank to help me un-restrict my account.
