My elderly mother was approached by an asphalt paving company stating that they had extra material and would give her a good deal. They refused to give her a total cost estimate and only gave a per SF cost of $1.50. She had no idea that there were over 1800 total SF and was not prepared for the $2700 bill.

They immediately started packing up when I arrived and left half of the project unfinished but started to demand full payment. They were very aggressive and unprofessional, yelling and screaming at both of us.

We settled on an amount but when I went outside to inspect the work things got ugly again. The work was incomplete, they covered the water main cover and cleanout in the parking lot. Half of the drive had not been rolled flat and was already crumbling away. They stated that it was typical, but I am a project manager and have worked on many commercial projects. It was the worst asphalt job that I have ever seen!
