Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

My son’s girlfriend was contacted on Facebook about a secret shopper job about 2-3 weeks ago. On Thursday or Friday (a couple of days ago) she received a priority mail flat rate letter and check in the mail. The letter said congratulations, here’s a check for $3890 and some instructions. They said to deposit the check wait 1-2 days for the check to clear or withdraw the funds immediately, keep a portion of the check for herself ($350) and then buy a cashier’s check of $20 for the Salvation Army, and then pick a location to "survey" from a list of banks: *** *** *** *** *** *** ** *** ** *** ***  Then, she was instructed to call Michael Farley (the guy who wrote the letter and the CEO of the company) to let him know she had gotten the check and it cleared her account. He said he would email her or text her "beneficiary details" to make a $3500 deposit into someone else’s account. He wanted her to text him back when she’d done that with a copy of the receipt. They said it was her "first exercise as an evaluator". After that she was to write a report noting the neatness of location, minutes to complete assignment, cashier’s check, professionalism of employees, etc. And there was a $100 bonus if you complete the task in less than 24 hours.
