Type of a scam Family/Friend Emergency

This individual targeted my dad who is 70 years old. I am uncertain if she blatantly asked him for money or if she just insinuated she needed help, but regardless, she told him multiple ways of how she could recieve the money. She told him that her mother was "dying" and how she had all of these medical bills and was behind. How she hadn’t been able to work because she’s too busy taking care of her mom. Looking at her facebook, you can see the people who have commented are mostly elderly men. As far as I know, she has gathered $3k in Walmart gift cards from my dad. I have publicly put her on blast to spread awareness. I have also did a background check, and got nothing back, so this is obviously a "catfish" account. I have reported the account to Facebook and I hope something gets done soon before someone else gets scammed.
