They always call super early in the morning, asking for a lady named Deirdre. As soon as you correct them, they launch into a pitch about donating to the fund to help veterans (“Oh, maybe you can help me…”). If you try to refuse or correct them or ask to speak to a manager, they will hang up. Calls back go to call busy or a generic voicemail that says “The fundraising center is closed. If you want to donate, press 1. If you want to end this call, press 2”. No information available, only the generic title of “the fundraising center”. The phone appears to come from an online service, such as Skype or Google, where area codes can be changed at will, so it’s possible they are not local.
