Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I was selling my washer and dryer on Craigslist for $500 total and I was contacted by “Jovani Paucek” who wanted to reserve the washer and dryer. I gave him my name and phone number so that he could look at it or pick it up but he was “out of town”, so he sent a check for $1950 to pay the movers he was sending. I cut off contact with him when he sent the check without my agreeing to it. I’m sure the check is not good because it is a ridiculous amount to pay. I imagine that if I had cashed it, I would have been instructed to pay the movers, they would have taken the washer and dryer, and the check would have been bad. The business names and the personal name on the envelope are probably false and don’t match the name used on Craigslist.
