Type of a scam Identity Theft

On 26April2019 I received a voicemail on my cell phone from someone stating to be the IRS and Dept. of Treasury. I returned the phone call to a number of 281 648 88879 and then they called me back again at 281 648 88779. They told me that they sent me a letter an old address, and they recited it correctly. They then told me that the US Marshals raided an abandoned car off of the boarder of Texas with 22lbs of cocaine and 22 credit cards under my name with my personal identifying information and the only way to verify that I am not involved and that I am not the responsible party for the found items was to verify a purchase of a large amount of the reamining balancing of my checking and savings. They first had me drive to a CVS local to me; they specifically requested it be a CVS store. Then they had me purchase a google play card in the amount of $500.00; this varied from the original request of $900.00 due to the fact that the max aloud on a goggle play card was $500.00. They had the correct inforamtion of the amount in my account of $900.00, thus further leading me to believe it was who they claimed to represent to me. They claimed that the only way to verify my identity was to complete this process which they laid out in detail over the phone. Once the card was purchased I then was to and did relay the card inforation over to them which they said I’d be reimbursed. I questioned them serveral times to the legitamicy of this call and the information they were providing, the caller was a female with a spanish sounding accent. She, multiple times, relayed to me that this was legitimate and that if I contacted anyone else in regards to this that I would be arrested by agents, but if I complied she would redirect me to dispatch that would send an officer to meet me to verify all further inforamtion. I asked her if she could send an officer immediately to which she replyed if she sent one now then I would be arrested and sent to federal prison, and that she would not be able to help me. They had the last four digits of my social security number as well. Once i provided them with the card information to redeem the amount loaded on the google play card she then asked for more money, she continued the process steps from the begining attemppting to get the full amount of $900.00 from me. At this point I decided to wait for the officials to arrive, as I called my local police department to assit the matter. I did not provide any further money to her. A police report has been made with my local district as well as reports made wit hthe CVS location. I have also attempted to contact google without success on multiple occation over the last several days. Google as failed to comply with assisting with investigating the matter as the Google card information can be linked to an account in which the money was transacted to. However, they do not answer with great customer service. Of the many time I have called there was only one time I have spoken to someone (after 30mins on hold) and she “cannot not hear me.” If google fails to comply in their service to assist the matter then they should be looking into. I’ve seen that other people have been through something similar. Without google attempting to look it, they are just as fault for these scams and not making the effort to assist in finding the culprits behind these scams.
