My computer became corrupted with lots of ads and spam to the point where I couldn’t use it, and US Software Solutions (if that is even their name – their logo looked like it had been just copied and pasted from elsewhere) somehow sent me a message pop up on my computer making it look like they were contacting me on behalf of Apple and warning me about fraudulent activity on my computer. I called the number and stupidly allowed them remote access to fix the issue. Seemingly, they did fix the issue, and I paid them $150, but after the fact, I realized it was likely a scam and became concerned that the company could have downloaded my hard drive and/or installed harmful software during the time I gave them remote access.
