Person called a friend and claimed to be with the US Marshall’s office. He said that the victim had not appeared for jury duty and that there was a warrant for their arrest. The impostor said they had to come to a kiosk in the courthouse and make payment of $980 using a prepaid card purchased at a grocery store. Told the victim that they could not break the phone connection or else they would have to come and arrest them. After the victim went to the store to purchase it the imposter asked the the last 8 digits of the card to verify it. At that point they determined it was fraud and hung up.
