I received the following text message and looked up the company and saw a BBB complaint and sure enough it was a scam. I haven’t experienced any loss of money yet but I’m keeping an eye out for it. And blocked the phone number.

Dear (my name),

This is to inform you that our recruitment team viewed your resume application with name (my name)and we are pleased with your qualifications, we believe you have the required qualifications to undergo online interview… So your resume has been shortlisted for online interview with the interview manager, Ms Brittany Thomas. You can add her on Gmail hangout or Google talk with the following contact address ([email protected]). The starting pay is $24.00 per hour for this Customer Service/Data Entry Position. Add Her to your buddy list and message her, she will be online waiting for you ASAP to conduct the interview with you.

Contacted by someone at the company about a job opportunity. Directed me to someone for training. They both said they would send a check to work from home. Received the check but it was from a different company in Kansas City, MO. Wanted me to deposit the check through the ATM machine. I declined multiple times and told them I’m not interested in the position but the still sent the check anyway.

The scammers presented a work from home job opportunity. When I "passed", i was told I would get a cashiers check for my expenses and i would have to deposit it immediately.
