This company got into my system through an email. I opened the email mistaking it for one I was anticipating. Once opened, my system locked down. They claimed to be Microsoft. Once in my system, they disabled Norton and McAfee, then threatened to erase my files and system unless I paid them $600. I told them that I had no money, I couldn’t afford it. They threatened and, did in fact, erase two files. I agreed to give them $199. They installed a virus protection program, searched and scanned my system for 4 hrs. before agreeing to leave my system.

Neither Norton or McAfee will work now.
