Type of a scam Employment

I found a job post on an online job site for a company called Transit Inspections. The job was a work-from-home opportunity where I would receive packages to my house. After they came in, I would take a picture of the contents, upload it to the web portal for verifivation of receipt, and then remail them with the shipping labels provided. A majority of the packages where redirected to Amazon locations in North Carolina and other locations, so I was not immediately suspicious. However, I had not received payment in a month, which they called their "training period," and if I passed, I would get a check and a bonus on the 3rd of November. I was concerned so I looked online but I couldn’t find anything. Then, someone contacted me via Facebook saying that they had also worked for the company and that their Ebay account had been hacked, when they tried to stop, and that packages were being shipped to MY address. I offered to "return to sender" the package that belonged to him, and I contacted the authorities to inquire about my situation. Although they did not see anything especially illegal yet, I was unsure so I called the BBB. They informed me that the information sounded like a shipping scam, and that I may wish to contact IdentyTheft.gov to report a possible stolen identity, because when I first applied, I received an application which I filled out personal information including Social Security and a copy of a cable bill to verify my address. I also contacted the post master to report possible mail fraud.
