(Report taken by BBB staff.) Consumer has gotten several letters from attorneys regarding foreclosure filed thru the courts in June. The letter she called about was rec’d last week from Tom Mullins Foreclosure Prevention Specialist (no letterhead). It said "final notice", "time sensitive information enclosed." Consumer called toll-free no. but got a recording and left a vm. "Lance" from Cincinnati returned call. He didn’t mention Tom but said his boss was Brian Thomas, attorney in Cols. Consumer was suspicious and looked up Brian Thomas and he is an attorney in Cols but handles employment law, not foreclosures per the Internet and address is different than told to her. Lance wanted $1000 upfront to assist consumer. She expressed reservations about sending money by mail or over the phone, so Lance offered to come to their home. He was supposed to have come at 10 this morning but he called at 9:30 and said his boss told him not to come b/c consumers could not get all the money together. Had originally offered to pick up $300 and let them make monthly payments. He said he would come tomorrow morning (Fri. 7/24/15).
