Type of a scam Rental

Homeaway scam. Called himself Tom H. Johnson and asked for a security deposit consisting of $918 in the form of Bitcoin. Also, I was unable to view the property until I payed the security deposit. When you call the customer service number listed on the "Homeaway" site, it directs you to an Airbnb answering service and then immediately hangs up. I then called the real Homeaway, who does not take Bitcoin as a method of payment and could not find my information. The listing did not exist on the Homeaway site. Had his plan been successful, I would have been unable to retrieve my Bitcoin money.
