I received text message about my motor cycle just posted on Craigslist Wichita Falls. To be sure everything was OK with the cycle he wanted a vehicle history report. He suggested a web site listed above in this report that he had used before. Then after getting the report send it to him at his email listed above. I did get a report from tiretracked.com for $22.95 on Discover Card, and sent him a copy of it. Never heard from him again. This was this afternoon, 9/6/2019. I did not use his link to the site for the report so I think I am OK, but I did call Discover and have my account number changed. I think I am OK except for the $22.95 I got charged for the report I do not need. I hope the scammer does not get anything out of this since I did not use the link he supplied.

Out of state number insisted I pay for a vin check. Ever bit of the conversation seemed like a scam. Further investigation points to a scam. Once I called them out they dropped communication.

I was contacted first by phone call which I was unable to answer and then via text. The scammer was responding to an add I posted on Craigslist selling a motorcycle. The scammers text stated that they wanted to buy my motorcycle and would even drive up today once I went to the website and downloaded a background check to verify that the bike doesn’t have damage. They then asked me to e mail the background check to his e mail. When I asked how the background check was relevant he responded by saying “Iv had my eye on it for a while.??”
