I applied for a job on Ohio means jobs website. I was sent an email asking to conduct online interview. I got the job. They said they were sending equioment to my house for training and sent a cashiers check instead. I got extremely suspicious when the company name was not on any correspondance, no phone numbers etc. I looked up names of the people listed on check and the address is a residential home. Not a place of business. They want me to deposit check in my account and then have me contact them to get information on what I need to do next. I asked the person i was having contact with for his direct dial number so i could speak to him and he hedged the question and did not answer. I still have the check and not real sure what to do with it. I have copies of messaging conducted with the person. I have address from fed ex envelope where they mailed the check. It is also a residential address. When I questioned why the business name wasn’t on check and it had some mans name they said he was an accountant for the company. But there was no CPA or anything of such following the name. I’ve called every number I have found associated with the addresses i have and they have all been disconnected or just rings busy. It will not allow you to call with private number either. I tried calling to see who answered but never got a person. I have called Progessive corporation and they do have 2 Thomas Smith’s that work there but none of the other names I was given work there, They also informed me that Progressive does not send out checks when they supply the laptops and computers for their workers anyway
