A person hacked into a friend of mine’s Facebook took her picture and added it to my messenger. I now have two messenger text accounts for her. This person started to write me about the State economic development financial assistance program. Wondering if I received my cash yet. Sent a video of a FedEx envelope with $60,000 in cash. Wanted me to call a phone number. The number was out of Arizona. It is a scam. I have tried to report it and hopefully it is remedied. I don’t know how they got into her Facebook account which is linked to messenger. Probably many of her friends received the same text This person continue to tell me to call an agent. This is very similar to another scam that I understand where the agent asks for a processing fee which you will never get back. And the promise for all the so-called cash which is dropped on your doorstep is a scam. They claim that myself and my friend were on a list and did I get my cash yet? They claim that myself and my friend were on a list and I get my cash yet? My friend is an elderly woman in In poor health in assisted-living. The scammers play on the elderly and try to extract money from people illegally. Beware!
