Mystery shopper job ad on craigslist, I responded with my personal email for more information. They emailed me a link to apply, and upon completing that, I was emailed a form to sign up. Form asked for money for a membership. I did not proceed any further.

Congratulations on applying to be a mystery shopper. The next step is just simply signing up to receive your materials to get started. Each week we supply our members with a package containing all the necessary items needed for that week. You will receive your assignments, survey forms, instructions for each assignment, and gift cards to use if a purchase is needed to complete the assignment. On average members receive about 25 or more assignments each week with each assignment being worth 35 to 50 dollars each one completed. As you see the more assignments you complete the more money you’ll make. Your kits will give you specific instructions on exactly how to complete and turn in each assignment. The guides however must be followed exactly in order to receive payment. We cannot accept half completed or insufficient assignments. So once you register to receive your kits, within two to three business days after you should receive the first one and can start working right away. Upon successful signup you will be asked if you would like to receive direct deposit or check paid out each week for your completed assignments. If you choose a check it will arrive in your kits each week as well.
