I completed the oral swab and every time I try to get any information I am told that my sample is in the lab being tested. I completed this in September 2020 and have not heard from them since.

I have received repeated requests from this company for my Medicare number. They refuse to send me a form to take to my physician for their Cancer Screening test. I did get the following email:

Hello,

My name is Sarah. I am a patient advocate with the Health Awareness Project. I wanted to give you a little bit more information about the diagnostic test before moving forward. You can also call our Customer Service telephone number and speak to a live representative if you prefer, (386) 202-5625.

First, let me explain that our Cancer Genetics test is a simple, non-invasive cheek swab, which is conducted by you at home. It tests for 44 Genetic mutations in the body to let you know if anything is cancerous or could be cancerous. The test helps you and your doctor to improve your health and medical management options, based on your genetics. In addition, there are 3 qualifying factors that one must meet in order to receive the test.

1. You either have or had been diagnosed with cancer.

2. A doctor signs off on the test.

3. Your insurance covers the test. (*Please note that Medicare Part B must be your primary insurance provider, at this time)

We will then need to know the following three pieces of information to confirm whether or not you qualify for the test. Will need to verify,

4. Your date of birth.

5. Your mailing address.

6. Your Medicare ID number on your red white and blue Medicare card.

Once we obtain this information, we will verify your insurance to confirm that your diagnostic test is covered, and there are no out of pocket expenses, prior to you receiving the test kit.

Our CLIA Accredited ID is 45D2091671 you may verify this information on https://www.cdc.gov/clia/LabSearch.html

We appreciate your interest in our diagnostic test and look forward to your response. Thank you for your time and have an excellent day.

Kind regards,

Sarah

Type of a scam Healthcare/Medicaid/Medicare

I was on Facebook and found link for a DNA cancer screening being offered by The Health Awareness Project. I was filling out the information and came to part where it asked for my Medicare ID number. I did not feel comfortable filling that out until I checked out the company. The website had a ScamPulse.com Accredited Business logo on the page. Called BBB, which said the business was not accredited and I stopped my submission.

Can’t trust anyone When they asked for the same information from me my first thoughts was Yeah right I give you my information and you can use it to charge medicare for doing nothing but send out a bogus kit. And who knows they even send medicare bills for things they did not do. Our medicare is important and I will not be a party to a scam for over billing and billing for the profit of the company. Check your doctors reports as well and ask what the heck they are doing if you don’t know for sure. That way you know what they are charging and you will spot it if they bill for services not rendered. I had a hospital do this and called my medicare to let them know. I wish I knew what happened after that but I no longer see mysterious charges.

Tanya –

Thank you so much for keeping me aware of this scam . I was wondering why my Physician didn’t know about this.
