Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan

The Grant Center called me several times advising for a fee they would apply and handle the paperwork necessary for me to obtain a grant. I was advised that I was approved for $145,000.00. $20,000 was for a senior grant and the money should be deposited into my account in 60 days. The additional $125,000.00 would take approximately 65 days. I paid this company $3,475.00 on March 21, 2016. No one from this company will answer my phone calls. I have called and emailed them with no response. I want to warn customers not to send this company any money. Thanks

1. Back on January 22, 2016 I was contacted by a John Gray (1-800-0244-3842) concerning a Grant Writing Assistance program which promised a lot of assistance (six weeks of phone coaching) and went right up to the point of promising that I would be offered a grant but never would commit. He stated that I had to put up some money in order to make this happen, that should have been my first clue to hang up, however I have heard of grants and went along with his request.

2. Very shortly thereafter I was contacted by you (Liz Anderson) wanting my electronic signature. Again knowing better I complied.

3. Later that day you (Liz Anderson) contacted me and stated that my package had been put on your desk which meant that I would be eligible for more grant money and that you (Liz Anderson) would call me back on that Friday or following Monday however you (Liz Anderson) did not do as you (Liz Anderson) said.

4. Either that day or the next week I was contacted by a lady who’s name I did not write down who stated that my personalized help would start on Jan. 25, however again I did not receive her call as promised.

5. I placed a call that day to the number that Mr. Gray had given me but voice mail was all I received.

6. The next day a lady called me and stated that she would have to reschedule the training session and I asked why she did not call as originally scheduled and she said your phones had been out of service. I stated at that time I felt that I may have been scammed by your company and she had no reply, just hung up.

7. On Feb. 1, 2016 I filled a scam/fraud report to my credit card company.

8. On Feb. 18, 2016 my credit card company contacted me to say that your company had produced documentation and they would have to place the charge back on my card.

9. Earlier this week a gentleman called my house (from your operation) and spoke to my wife but I was not at home and he said he would call back later. To date no call has been received.

10. On Feb. 19,& 26 2016 I called the number on your cover sheet as instructed by the cover sheet to 1-888-371-2224 to try and set up these six training sessions which your agent promised would take place. However I got a answering machine stating that Customer Service was not available and if I would leave a number someone would call me back within 2 to 3 hrs. I did not receive any calls.

11. On Feb. 29, 2016 hrs. I once again called the number on your instructions and someone actually answered the phone but did not give her name. I told her that no one had contacted me about my six training sessions and she said she would look into it and call me back shortly. As of March 3, 2016 no calls received from your company.

12. On March 2, 2016 I called both numbers that I have available to call for your company but again just a voice mail message promising a call back within 2 to 3 hrs.

13. I have also emailed you on Feb. 26 & 29, 2016 and on March 2, 2016 but no reply so far.

14. DO NOT EXPECT ANY HELP FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY!!

15. I have attached the first three pages of the information I received by email from this company.

I was contacted by The Grant Center saying that my name had come up as being eligible to file for and obtain government grants. I was told by the personnel that I was eligible and would receive the funds within 90 days. I was told that in order for the company to process the grants for me, I must pay a fee of 6% of all total funds that I would be receiving, half now and the other half when the money was granted to me. They got $3000.00 up front and I had to submit a series of forms with information they needed for processing the grants. Now, they will not even return a phone call.

Type of a scam Government Grant

A company calling themselves "The Grant Center" called me out of the blue telling me that I qualify for grants. They took a little bit of information from me to determine what sorts of things I’d need grants for, which is odd because they said they already knew that I qualify. Then they said they would call me back. Two weeks later someone from there called me back and wanted to schedule a phone interview with Ray. Ray called me back 15 minutes later with a long windeded diatribe about how there are govt grants available but that it would take a lot of paperwork for me to take the time to get them. Then he said he will search the database for me and get back to me. A week later someone calls from The Grant Center to schedule another consultation with Ray, the grant specialist. He calls me 15 minutes later and again goes on and on about how long it will take if I were to apply for grants myself. I told him, he needs to cut to the chase. He told me that he doesn’t think I would be a good customer. Yeah, no kidding. He claims that they have no govt actions or complaints from consumers regarding their service on the BBB. I know the ScamPulse.com is a load of crap and means nothing. Anyway, he hung up before I could tell him what I am going to warn people about here… The Grant Center is a SCAM. Hang up on them. Do not even entertain them. It will not be worth it.
