Type of a scam Online Purchase

The person knew I had a subscription to the magazine and convinced me that I should cancel an upcoming "5-year renewal". After I said that I had to discuss with my family, she said: "The deadline for this is today, otherwise it will renew automatically". This was already suspicious but I agreed to cancel the renewal today. She then started asking for personal information "in order to be able to cancel the renewal". From those questions, she now knows my date of birth and profession (so the next scam call might sound even more convincing!). Then she asked for my credit card information, which is when I realized this was a scam and hung up. Then I checked and this phone number has been flagged as a scam number on the internet, and in my magazine account, there is absolutely no renewal scheduled, so that was merely an excuse to get my info. PLEASE, investigate who has been making calls from this number and get them to justice.
