I received a letter in the mail today saying that I was delinquent in paying part of my student loans from a group called The Department of Advocacy Services. This is not true as I have made every payment on time and in full. The letter also stated that I owed multiple credit agencies, which again is not true as only 1 company holds my student loans. The letter said I could call the phone number 1-888-418-9946 to have the matter resolved for as little as $17,500. I called my loan company who confirmed I was in good standing. I also called the the Federal Student Aid Information Center (1-800-433-3243) to confirm that my only loan was with the company I called. They confirmed that I only have one loan in my name. I did not call the company because when I googled the name I found other complaints of scams. I do not want a more gullible person to fall victim to this company.
